50th Anniversary of the 1966 Alpine World Ski Championship

| August 17, 2016 << Back

We are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 1966 World Alpine Ski Championships held in Ski Portillo and together with our friends and colleagues we want to honor this grand event.  It was the only world championship of the sport held in the southern hemisphere making it a milestone for the Chilean ski industry and the world.

Gathering together anecdotes and stories about this historic event, we share with you the micro documentary “Portillo 1966, 50 Years Anniversary“ by photographer and filmmaker Morten Andersen. The video features images and valuable testimonies of those who had the opportunity to participate in this great experience in 1966 as well as modern day ski champions who have trained in Portillo.

We hope you enjoy!

Best regards,

Henry & Michael Purcell
