Fashion show with handcrafted alpaca products: on the 12th and 27th of July Portillo is organizing a fashion show with alpaca clothing from the prestigious Chilean store Bernsau Chantal. This show invites you to participate as the models.
Almaviva Winemaker's Dinner 2010
The internationally recognized Almaviva Winery and Hotel Portillo present the 7th annual edition of the Almaviva Winemaker’s Dinner on July 29th . Michel Friou, Almaviva's French Winemaker will pair Almaviva wines of the years 2001 - 2003 and as an special present for guests the new one 2007, with exclusive courses prepared by Portillo Chef Rafael Figueroa designed to highlight the wines' unique characteristics. Since this year's event includes an exclusive presentation of different Almaviva vintages, participation will have an additional cost (US 130) to our guests and it will be held at the unique mountain restaurant “Tio Bob´s”. Almaviva is a joint venture between Baron Philippe of Rothschild (France) which runs Chateau Mouton Rothschild, and Viña Concha y Toro. Almaviva's mission is to produce Chilean wine in Puente Alto under the French Chateau concept which brings together a vineyard, winery and a production team dedicated exclusively to producing fine and unique wine. This year there will be exquisite and exclusive courses that each one will be accompanied by one different wine of Almaviva (2001-2003-2007), one of the best wines and one of the most of Chile. It is worth mentioning that the prestigious American publication "Wine Spectator" and critic Robert Parker awarded Almaviva the highest ranking of any wine produced in Chile. IX CHILEAN WINE WEEK “Top Wines of Chile” In celebration of Chile’s world renowned wines, this winter Portillo will be hosting its 9th annual Top Wines of Chile Week. For no extra cost, guests will have the luxury of trying some of Chile’s wines from the best vineyards. The winemakers will also hold information sessions in which guests may learn more about wine culture and the premium quality wines that Chile produces. Come and enjoy!

MOUNTAIN FEST: This week we offer to our passengers interesting activities related to the mountain. Presentations of people that climb mountains in Chile as well as the original presentation of the Telluride Film Festival documentals. Telluride Mountainfilm is a combination of films that look to show the power of visual arts and spark change. Mountainfilm’s goal of highlighting the uniqueness of wild spaces is achieved through a balanced program chosen for its adventurous, cultural and social content. Therefore, mountains and mountain sports are a principal theme. |

WINE FEST Based upon the success of Portillo’s original Wine Week, we have decided to provide yet another opportunity for guests to learn more about the wonderful world of wine and of course, enjoy some of the best wine that Chile has to offer. Each afternoon guests will be able to wind down while enjoying and learning about the different wines of Chile, passengers will able to talk to the winemakers and try different kind of the best wines. At the end of the presentation, there are some games were the person in charge of the vineyard make questions about the presentation, and if you answer right, you might win a bottle of wine for dinner! All of this comes at no extra cost to our guests. Remember this week we offer the most convenient promotion!
