Our ski school offers a special ski program for children ages 4 to 6 called Kids Camp.  Kids Camp is designed to introduce young children to skiing and to allow parents time to ski on their own during the morning and/or afternoon. Kids Camp runs from Sunday through Friday from 10:30 to Noon and from 3:00 to 4:30. Meeting time for each class is fifteen minutes before class time so that the kids can get comfortable and know their instructor before the actual class begins.

Note: Kids Camp does not include lunch.  It is the parents’ responsibility to pick up their children after class has finished.

Every child who is enrolled in Kids Camp or in a regular ski school is automatically enrolled in a Thursday race designed especially for them, a Portillo tradition for 50 years. The event is supervised by ski school instructors and takes place on the El Corralito or El Puma run.  Children who are comfortable skiing Plateau run are encouraged to join Portillo’s main race “Sol de Portillo” as well.

Our main dining room has a special menu available for children, making meal time stress free for parents.  Foods like spaghetti, hamburgers and chicken strips are always available for kids.

A not-so-common sight these days, it is normal to see children and adults playing one of our many board games in our comfortable, relaxing living room.  A staple of times past, and a fun throwback to simpler days.

If the kids aren’t playing games or lounging in the living room, there is a good chance they’re in our huge game room on the hotel’s lower level.  Equipped with foosball, billiards and ping pong tables, a climbing wall, and right next to the full court gym, kids and teens find hours of enjoyment in our game room.
